Terms of Service

Last updated: 18 April 2026

Pre-launch stub: These Terms are a pre-launch draft. They will be formally reviewed by legal counsel and updated before SpiritLabs products go live to paying users. If you have questions, email legal@getspiritlabs.app.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing getspiritlabs.app, joining our waitlist, or using any SpiritLabs product or service, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ('Terms'). If you do not agree, please do not use our services.

These Terms form a binding legal agreement between you and SpiritLabs Ltd ('SpiritLabs', 'we', 'our', 'us'). We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of our services after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

Note: SpiritLabs is currently in pre-launch. These Terms apply to the waitlist and marketing website. Full product-specific Terms will be published before each product launches.

2. Description of Services

SpiritLabs builds AI-powered technology products for the global Church, including SpiritSermon (sermon preparation), SpiritDisciple (personal devotionals), SpiritIgnite (youth ministry), SpiritKids (children's biblical learning), SpiritFamily (family devotionals), SpiritChurch (church management), SpiritGive (digital tithing), and SpiritMission (missionary tools).

Our services are provided on a subscription or freemium basis. Specific pricing, feature access, and subscription terms will be published when each product launches.

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of our services at any time with reasonable notice to affected users.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to create an account or join our waitlist. By using our services, you confirm that you meet this requirement.

Children under 13 (US) or under 16 (UK/EU) may only use SpiritLabs products with verifiable parental consent, as required by applicable law (COPPA, GDPR-K). SpiritKids will include a full parental consent flow before any child account is created.

Our services are available worldwide. However, by using them you agree to comply with all local laws applicable to your jurisdiction.

4. Acceptable Use

SpiritLabs products are built for the global Church. You agree to use them in a manner consistent with their purpose — supporting spiritual formation, pastoral ministry, and Christian community.

You must not use our services to: spread false doctrine or theological misinformation; harass, abuse, or harm other users; attempt to reverse-engineer or extract our AI models or training data; use our services in ways that violate applicable law; upload content that is illegal, defamatory, or violates third-party rights; or attempt to circumvent any security or access controls.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, without refund where applicable.

5. Intellectual Property

All SpiritLabs software, designs, trademarks, logos, and content (excluding user-generated content and Scripture) are owned by SpiritLabs Ltd and are protected by applicable intellectual property law.

You retain ownership of any content you create using our products (e.g., sermon outlines, journal entries, prayer notes). By storing this content in our systems, you grant us a limited licence to process it solely for the purpose of providing the service to you.

Scripture quotations are the property of their respective publishers and copyright holders, and are used in accordance with their respective licence terms.

The SpiritLabs AI engine outputs (sermon outlines, devotionals, etc.) are generated for your personal or ministerial use. They are not independently copyrightable as original SpiritLabs works — you may use, adapt, and distribute them freely in your ministry context.

6. AI Content Disclaimer

SpiritLabs uses large language model AI technology to assist in content generation. While we implement denomination-specific theological guardrails and human review processes, AI outputs should not be treated as authoritative theological sources without pastoral review.

AI-generated content may contain errors, omissions, or theological positions that differ from your tradition. SpiritLabs is a tool — the discernment of a pastor, teacher, or parent remains essential.

We do not guarantee the theological accuracy, completeness, or appropriateness of any AI-generated output for your specific context. We strongly encourage you to review all AI-generated content before sharing it with congregations or children.

7. Payments and Subscriptions

Payment terms, subscription pricing, and refund policies will be published in full before any paid product launches. All payments will be processed through Stripe, a PCI-compliant payment provider.

SpiritGive facilitates digital tithing and giving for churches. SpiritLabs acts as a technology intermediary only and is not responsible for the financial governance or stewardship of any church or organisation using SpiritGive.

Where applicable, prices will be displayed inclusive of VAT/GST at checkout.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, SpiritLabs shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of our services.

Our total liability to you for any claim arising from these Terms or your use of our services shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months prior to the claim.

Nothing in these Terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be lawfully excluded.

9. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales (subject to update upon company registration). Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

If you are located in the EU, you may also bring claims before the courts of the EU member state in which you reside.
